BEGINNER WORKSHOP 1 Day:  10am - 4 pm

Come and learn the basic principles of linocut printmaking in the friendly environment of my kitchen studio in Maidstone. In this workshop, I will guide you through the steps of creating a single-layer linocut to be proud of. You'll learn how to plan a design for lino, how to carve safely and how to print your design to make a small edition of prints.

All course materials are provided. Vintage books and illustrations are provided for your inspiration. You will be working with traditional art linoleum, professional carving tools and oil-based inks, a Victorian cast-iron printing press and modern lever-type presses.

This workshop is designed to teach you the basic techniques for linocut printing, with time for experimentation and asking questions. You will take home your carved linoleum block and all the prints you make on the day.  

No printmaking experience required.
People of all ages and artistic abilities are welcome.

I will provide tea, freshly brewed coffee and biscuits. Please bring a packed lunch, and also an apron to protect your clothes from ink. You are welcome to bring your own black & white sketches to work from.
