'Towards the North Downs' original linocut

Limited edition of 26.

A landscape print which was inspired by the vista that openened up on a footpath near Lenham. These are oast houses, traditionally used for drying hops, as viewed from the Greensand Ridge and looking towards the North Downs. This is a typically Kentish landscape in the  county that is known as the 'garden of England'. 

Printing Method Reduction Linocut. Hand printed using hand-carved printing blocks and a Victorian cast iron book press.

Approximate Size   Paper / Mount: 6 x 8 "    Print: 4 x 6" (9.5 x 14.5 cm)

Paper  White natural grain 250gsm Fabriano Unica paper with torn or deckled edges. 

Inks   Relief ink made from linseed oil and lightfast pigments.
