'The Old Oak' linocut

Original limited edition print, edition of 15

A little lane by the old oak tree, perched on the scarp of the North Downs chalk ridge in Kent. One of my favourite trees up on the Downs - loosely based on a lane between Charing and Lenham and an old oak tree in the tiny village of Stalisfield, this monochrome print was born from the larger 'Last Light' landscape print. I liked this tree so much that it became a little edition in its own right. 

Printing Method  Reduction Linocut. Hand printed using hand-carved printing blocks and a Victorian cast iron book press.

Approximate Size   Mount: 12 x 16 "    Print: 20 x 24 cm    Signed and numbered on the front.

Paper  White 250 gsm BFK Rives 100% cotton paper with torn or deckled edges. 

Inks  Traditional Relief ink made from linseed oil and lightfast pigments.

Each print is handmade and unique. Gradient colours and coverage may vary slightly, contributing to the charm of owning an original piece of art.
